Steven especially, really. He gets that from Rose. He gets so much from her, which I suppose makes sense because he is, after all, half her.
Though in the end, they didn't end up defeating all the monsters. Instead, they went to Homeworld, where Rose's people come from, and managed to convince her... family, I guess, is the best word for them? He got them to help heal them.
Because that's the awful thing, Felix. All those monsters that they fought were nothing but soldiers from a war five thousand years ago, corrupted by the use of a terrible weapon. Rose and her closest companions were the only ones that managed to avoid being hit by it.
[Felix stares at the message for a minute, his mind's eye immediately fixed on the Lance of Ruin transforming a screaming Miklan into a horrific, murderous beast. On Sylvain's face as they fought him. On the corpse looking just as human as ever once they felled the monster.
Didn't Greg say his son was just a teenager? The same age, perhaps, that Felix and the others had been. And yet, he was able to rescue those corrupted soldiers. Could Rhea have done something similar, if she'd tried? She must know more about Crest stones than anyone else; could she have found a way to reverse what the Lance had done?
Felix shakes his head. Enough of getting lost on memory lane.]
I'm familiar with that kind of battle too. someone I once knew stole an ancient weapon he shouldn't have touched and it transformed him into a demonic beast. we had to take him down. it happened again with others, but deliberately inflicted. we never found a way to reverse it. I commend your son for doing what we couldn't.
[Then, after about ten seconds, another message comes:]
Well, he did have Rose's... well, I wasn't sure if I ought to call them her sisters or her aunts and mother, but he had Rose's kin to help him. Since they were the people who'd made the weapon that had corrupted everyone who Rose hadn't had under her shield with her when they set it off, it was really the least they can do.
And, well, no. She's about twice that I think? That's just how long she's been on Earth, more or less. Gems are very long-lived.
i can't believe a simple request for lessons turned into greg telling felix more su plot
